We a re officially recruiting Activity Instructors for the 2026–2027 Schools as Neighborhood Resources (SNR) season!

Please help us get the word out by sharing the attached flyer throughout your networks, with community partners, and with anyone you think may be a good fit for SNR.

We are looking for instructors in a variety of areas, including sports and recreation, arts and creativity, health and wellness, business and entrepreneurship, education and life skills, and more.

The upcoming SNR season will run November 9, 2026 through March 29, 2027 , with programming on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00–8:00 PM .

Special Edition Community Book Club

We have a special offering for the next Community Book Club!

Responding to a call from veteran Book Club members, Neighborhood Leadership Institute is changing up our format a little. Our Book Club always selects thought-provoking literature for you - and that's not changing. We'll be reading Harlem Rhapsody by Victoria Christopher Murray, a book covering the extraordinary story of the woman who ignited the Harlem Renaissance.

For this edition of the Community Book Club, we'll be convening in-person for the first session on September 5th. This 2-hour gathering at NLI will bring us together in one room for the first time as we discuss chapters 1-6. Subsequent sessions will take place on Zoom (how we traditionally meet) beginning September 15th and ending on October 13th. A full schedule is provided below.

Since 2020, over 800 participants have gathered with us to read and discuss important books on social justice and race. As noted, we begin discussions for this book on September 5th. This edition of the Book Club will conclude on October 13th. Click here to register for this free activity.

The Youth Leadership Cleveland (YLC) Final Culmination Ceremony took place on May 30, 2026. At this ceremony, we celebrated the leadership, growth, dedication, creativity, service, and accomplishments of the 65 YLC students that participated in this program. This special occasion recognized the hard work and commitment of our youth as they showcase leadership projects, portfolios, service learning experiences, advocacy work, and personal growth developed throughout
