This six-week, paid program designed to help Cleveland 8th graders continue building on the self-discovery and growth they began in the True2U Mentoring Program. Through interactive projects, service learning, and weekly leadership themes, students will strengthen decision-making, communication, and community engagement skills while preparing for success in high school and beyond.

True2U is helping you discover your strengths, interests, and create a foundation for your future. Build on that foundation by joining the True2U Virtual Summer Leadership Academy. The True2U Virtual Summer Leadership Academy will help you build on the personal growth you experienced during the True2U Mentoring Program this school year.
You’ll be challenged to develop and display leadership through icebreakers, weekly themes, service learning, and other engaging projects. You’ll take an active role in leading discussions, community initiatives, personal development, and career exploration.

Who Can Join
Eligibility for the True2U Summer Leadership Academy
True2U is excited to partner with Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) to offer the virtual True2U Summer Leadership Academy! The program is open to Cleveland 8th graders who have been nominated through the True2U mentoring program. Students will receive a stipend for participating fully during the 6-week summer program beginning June 21, 2021.
We are expecting over 200 nominations for this program, and not all will apply, but there are only 50 paid slots available. Follow the directions below in the “To Submit Your Application” section to move forward.
