Responding to a call from veteran Book Club members, Neighborhood Leadership Institute is changing up our format a little. Our Book Club always selects thought-provoking literature for you - and that's not changing. We'll be reading
Harlem Rhapsody
by Victoria Christopher Murray, a book covering the extraordinary story of the woman who ignited the Harlem Renaissance.
For this edition of the Community Book Club, we'll be convening in-person for the first session on September 5th. This 2-hour gathering at NLI will bring us together in one room for the first time as we discuss chapters 1-6. Subsequent sessions will take place on Zoom (how we traditionally meet) beginning September 15th and ending on October 13th. A full schedule is provided below.
Since 2020, over 800 participants have gathered with us to read and discuss important books on social justice and race. As noted, we begin discussions for this book on September 5th. This edition of the Book Club will conclude on October 13th.
