Community Support Intern opportunity
at Neighborhood Leadership Institute
Position Summary:
Neighborhood Leadership Institute is seeking a reliable and organized community support intern to support program operations through organization, data entry, and administrative assistance. This individual will work closely with the Program Director of Out-of-School Time Initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit and community-based programming. This is a volunteer, unpaid position.
The intern will assist with:
- Organizing program materials, records, and files
- Entering and maintaining program data and documentation
- Providing general administrative and organizational support
- Assisting with various program-related tasks and projects as needed
Responsibilities may vary, offering exposure to different areas of nonprofit and program management.
Time Commitment
- 2–4 hours per week; Available Tuesday through Friday
- Days and times are flexible and can be discussed based on availability
This opportunity is open to:
- High school students seeking community service or early work experience
- College and graduate students interested in social work, education, or nonprofit leadership
- Retired individuals looking to stay engaged and give back
- Community members with a passion for service and organization
Participants will gain:
- Hands-on experience in nonprofit operations and program support
- Exposure to out-of-school time initiatives, social work, special education, and community-focused programming
- Mentorship from an experienced licensed social worker with a Master’s degree and background in special education
- Professional skill development in organization, data management, and communication
- Insight into leadership and community impact work
Additional Information
- A background check may be required, depending on assigned duties
- Community service hours can be documented through our nonprofit, if needed
